Xavi Hernandez originally planned to step away from Barcelona at the end of last season, before ultimately being dismissed. According to Relevo, he still intends to take a break from coaching with the Catalan job taking a lot out of him.
Nearly four months have passed since Xavi Hernandez was dismissed by Barcelona. Despite being linked to various coaching positions, he remains unemployed.
Xavi’s tenure at Barcelona was largely positive, highlighted by the La Liga title win in the 2022-23 season. Although currently unemployed, he’s expected to return to coaching soon. Former teammate Javier Saviola via Sport recently expressed his support for Xavi’s potential return to Barcelona although German Gaffer who has made a brilliant start to the season is currently at the helm of affairs.
“We must not forget what Xavi did. I have had the opportunity to be and chat with him, as a friend, we talked about how he did not have the best time. He has done a very good job. When you don’t win titles, it seems that you have done absolutely nothing. All these boys who have come out have been taken and trained by Xavi”.
“Hopefully at some point he can find happiness in another team and, in the future, hopefully he can return to Barcelona and do things well. This is what he wants.”
Although he plans to return to coaching but not until next summer at the earliest. The strain of his Barcelona tenure has left him needing a break. When he does return, he’ll have plenty of options to choose from amidst a desire to explore the English Premier League.
