In the most unexpected upset at the ongoing French Open, world number 361 and home girl, Lois Boisson defeated third seed Jessica Pegula in the fourth round.
The French player defeated the US Open runner-up 3-6 6-4 6-4 after suffering a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in her knee the previous year and earning a wildcard into the main competition.
Prior to this week, Boisson has never faced a player in the top 50 in the world, and she is making her first appearance in a Grand Slam main draw.
In the third set, the 22-year-old served for the match at 5-4 and had to withstand four break points before winning with a thunderous forehand.
She will play sixth seed Mirra Andreeva for a place in the semi-finals.
