Zambia midfielder Rachael Nachula has expressed confidence ahead of their highly anticipated quarter-final clash against Nigeria at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The Copper Queens will take on the nine-time champions on Friday, in what promises to be a thrilling encounter. Zambia go into the match in strong form, having secured two wins and a draw in the group stage.
The last meeting between both sides saw Zambia edge Nigeria 1-0 in a third-place match at the 2022 edition of the tournament, also held in Morocco.
Speaking ahead of Friday’s showdown, Nachula made it clear that the Zambians are not intimidated by the Super Falcons.
“We’re not afraid of any team—not even Nigeria,” she said in an interview with Brila FM. “Our focus is to stick to the coach’s instructions and play our game.”
