Super Falcons head coach Justine Madugu has expressed confidence in his team’s readiness ahead of their semi-final showdown against defending champions South Africa at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The nine-time African champions will take on Banyana Banyana in a highly anticipated clash on Tuesday in Casablanca, with a place in the final at stake.
Nigeria booked their spot in the semi-finals with an emphatic 5-0 win over the Copper Queens of Zambia in the quarter-finals.
Following a day’s break, the Super Falcons resumed training on Sunday in preparation for the encounter.
Speaking at a pre-match press conference, Madugu praised the players’ attitude and commitment in camp.
“The preparations are good, the girls have been very committed, determined, they are in good shape, they are well prepared,” he said.
Nigeria will be aiming to reclaim the continental crown after missing out on the title in the last edition, while South Africa will look to defend the trophy they won in 2022.
