Luton Town have officially confirmed the arrival of former Chelsea player Victor Moses, arriving on a free transfer which is subject to international clearance.

The 33-year-old former Nigerian international has recently been playing his football in Russia for Spartak Moscow until his exit.

He joined Spartak in 2021 after a successful loan spell from Chelsea in the 2020/21 campaign. While at Stamford Bridge, he made 128 appearances for the Blues, scoring 18 goals and winning the Premier League and FA Cup in consecutive years in 2017 and 2018. In 2021, he moved permanently to Spartak for £4.5m, where he also won the Russian Cup.

Notably, he was part of the Chelsea squad that won the Europa League in 2012/13.

“I’m looking forward to it,” said Victor in his first interview with LTFC+.

“I had a few offers from Europe, but I said to my agent that I set my mind on staying over here, and here we are. I’m very pleased and honored to be at this club and I just can’t wait to get going”.

“I spoke to Rob before I came, I spoke to the directors and they told me the plan and the history of the club, and I just want to be part of the success. I want to come here and enjoy my football, work hard for the club and for the team, and get back to where we belong in the Premier League”, he added.

Victor Moses has enjoyed a stellar career, spanning nearly 550 matches and accumulating 84 goals. He has represented Nigeria on 38 occasions and England’s youth teams 29 times. His impressive resume includes appearances in two World Cups, the Africa Cup of Nations, the Champions League, and the Europa League. Notably, he played in the 2019/20 Europa League final for Inter Milan, narrowly losing 3-2 to Sevilla.
