UCL: Ousmane Dembele’s early goal sinks Arsenal at Emirates

Paris Saint-Germain hold the advantage in their Champions League semi-final tie against Arsenal as Ousmane Dembele sealed a 1-0 win in the first leg on Tuesday at the Emirates Stadium.

Dembele struck in the opening five minutes at the Emirates Stadium and Luis Enrique’s side held on to the lead with a display that kept Arsenal largely at bay.

PSG will head into the second leg at the Parc des Princes on May 7 as the favourites to reach the final against Barcelona or Inter Milan as they look to win the tournament for the first time in their history, and also reach the UEFA Champions League final for the first time since 2020.

Vitinha was voted as the Man of the Match

This was Arsenal’s first defeat in 18 home European matches, and was a painful one at that.

Dembele rocked Arsenal when he scored via a pass from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia only four minutes into the semi-final first leg.

PSG tried to double their lead with alot of attacking play in Arsenal’s half, but David Raya stood tall to keep out all their attempts.

Visiting goalkeeper, Donnarumma also saved brilliantly from Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard either side of the break, while Arsenal saw Mikel Merino’s header from a Declan Rice free-kick ruled out for offside.

PSG had chances to extend their advantage late on, but substitute Bradley Barcola shot wide and Goncalo Ramos hit the bar to end an entertaining contest
