Tottenham Hotspur announce Thomas Frank as new head coach

Former Brentford manager, Thomas Frank, has been hired by Tottenham as their head coach till 2028.

The Dane, 51, takes over from Ange Postecoglou, who was fired earlier this month despite leading Spurs to the Europa League title back in May.

In his seven years as Brentford’s manager, Frank led the team from the Championship to the Premier League in 2021.

He will be Tottenham’s fourth permanent manager since June 2021.

Last season, Spurs lost 22 of their 38 league games, finishing seven spots and eighteen points behind Brentford, and finished 17th in the Premier League.

However, after defeating Manchester United in the Europa League final in Bilbao, they earned their first major title in 17 years and qualified for the Champions League for next season.

Justin Cochrane will join Frank at Tottenham as the Dane’s assistant, despite efforts from the Bees to keep hold of the England coach.

Frank has also brought head of performance Chris Haslam and first-team analyst Joe Newton with him from Brentford, while another assistant coach, Andreas Georgson, arrives from Manchester United.
