Leading the charge for Nigeria are dependable names like goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, team captain Rasheedat Ajibade, defensive stalwarts Osinachi Ohale and Michelle Alozie, as well as midfield maestros Deborah Abiodun and Christy Ucheibe.
Also making the list are three home-based stars: goalkeeper Rachael Unachukwu and defenders Sikiratu Isah and Miracle Usani, who earned their places following standout performances in the Nigerian Women’s Football League.
The squad began their training camp in Abuja on Thursday and will continue preparations through Saturday before jetting off to Lisbon, Portugal, for their final phase of training ahead of the tournament.
Nigeria is set to play two final tune-up matches against Portugal on June 23 and Ghana on June 29.
The 13th edition of the WAFCON tournament will run from July 5 to 26 in Morocco. Nigeria, the most successful team in the competition’s history with nine titles, will aim to secure a historic 10th championship.
Drawn into Group B, the Super Falcons will face Tunisia, Botswana, and Algeria in the group stage.
