Ecuador international Pervis Estupiñán has completed a move to Serie A giants AC Milan from Brighton & Hove Albion in a deal worth £17 million including add-ons.
The 27-year-old left-back has signed a contract that runs until 2030.
Estupiñán has been a key figure for Brighton since arriving from Villarreal in 2022, making 104 appearances and scoring five goals for the Premier League side.
He played a major role in Brighton’s historic qualification for European football in 2023, and featured prominently in their UEFA Europa League campaign, which ended in the round of 16 against Roma.
Last season, he made 34 appearances across all competitions as Brighton finished eighth in the Premier League.
“I have enjoyed working with Pervis and he has made a significant contribution to the club during his time here,” said Brighton head coach Fabian Hürzeler. “He is at the stage of his career when he wants a fresh challenge and this opportunity to play in Serie A gives him that.”
Estupiñán’s journey in English football began in 2016 when he joined Watford, although he never made a senior appearance for the Hornets.
He gained recognition at Villarreal, where he was part of the squad that won the 2021 UEFA Europa League, defeating Manchester United in the final.
His move to Milan marks a new chapter in his career, as he looks to make an impact in Italian football and compete at the highest level in Europe once again.
