The President of the African Table Tennis Federation (ITTF AFRICA), Wahid Enitan Oshodi has praised the Tunisia Table Tennis Federation (TTTF) for setting a prime example for others to follow after the successful completion of the 2025 ITTF Africa Cup in Tunisia.
Tunisia has yet again done the continent proud after they executed to perfection, the 2025 ITTF Africa Cup, which has been adjudged as one of the most well coordinated tournaments this year.
According to Oshodi, “I am very satisfied with what we witnessed in Tunisia, particularly with the African Club Championship.The venue was fantastic, and we saw young players emerging. Tunisia’s commitment and the teams knowledge and capacity are what we need to build across Africa”.
The ITTF President, Petra Sörling also expressed her pleasure with the event stating “The level of play is extremely high, and it is encouraging to see the young generation coming on board. There is a great future for table tennis in Africa. Tunisia has proven to be a solid organizer with a great track record of hosting events with a great team”.

Sörling also highlighted the importance of bringing back the World Championships to Africa in Durban 2023, highlighting that the high level of play at the Tunisia event is a legacy of that decision.
The leader of the Tunisia Table Tennis Federation (TTTF), Lotfi Guerfel also spoke of Tunisia’s eagerness to host more tournaments, and also said hosting such events not only helps to build infrastructure but also unearths new talents for the country.

We are truly satisfied with the achievements of both the African Club Championship and the Africa Cup. We had memorable moments watching high -level play and new young players progressing.”
He said.”Organising many tournaments is a great opportunity to make table tennis more visible to our sponsors, attract more young people to the sport, and increase its popularity. Hosting the event in Tunisia is advantageous as it allows our players to participate with lower costs, promotes culture and tourism and we are eager to do more” He added.
