Nicolas Jackson Set to Leave Chelsea Amid Newcastle Interest

Chelsea and striker Nicolas Jackson have reached an agreement for Jackson to depart the team.

Following Newcastle’s rumored interest in signing Benjamin Sesko, who was headed to Manchester United, the 24-year-old trained by himself on Friday.

He was not included in the team for the friendly match against Bayer Leverkusen on Friday.

With Chelsea having acquired two attackers this summer—Joao Pedro from Brighton and Liam Delap from Ipswich Town—a transfer works for Jackson and the Blues.

In 2023, Chelsea paid £32 million to Villarreal for the Senegal forward, and they intend to get at least double that much back.

The striker’s superior goal and assist statistics have led the club to believe he is worth more than the £52 million Arsenal paid to get Noni Madueke.

Jackson will be reintegrated into Chelsea’s team if their asking price is not fulfilled.

In 80 games throughout his two years at Chelsea, Jackson has scored 30 goals and provided 12 assists.

He agreed to a nine-year deal that will last until 2033 in September 2024.
