Newcastle United have turned down Liverpool’s opening bid for striker Alexander Isak.
According to Sky Sports, the offer was worth around £110 million plus add-ons, but it failed to meet the £120 million threshold.
Liverpool are now reportedly preparing a second bid.
Newcastle, keen to retain the Swedish forward, have placed a £150 million valuation on him and are reluctant to sell.
Isak, 25, is currently training in Spain at Real Sociedad’s facilities, away from Newcastle’s pre-season tour of Asia. The club cited a minor thigh issue as the reason for his absence.
However, sources suggest the striker is keen on a move away from St James’ Park this summer.
