It’s safe to say that Dutch gaffer Erik Ten Hag position as head coach of Manchester United is still very much intact following the latest backing from top officials within the club despite run of dismal results.

Top club officials in CEO Omar Berrada who was brought in from rival club Manchester City in January alongside Dan Ashworth from Eddie Howe’s Newcastle in July have both thrown their support behind the Dutch gaffer who has been criticized in recent times following their woeful start to the 2024/25 EPL campaign.

In a recent discussion, the club’s leadership made it clear that they are committed to Ten Hag’s long-term vision for the team. This sentiment is further underscored by a framed picture of the manager walking out of the tunnel at Old Trafford, which remains prominently displayed in the corridor leading to the boardroom.

“Do we still believe in Erik Ten Hag? Absolutely,” says Berrada.

“We think Erik is the right coach for us and we’re fully backing him. We’re going to continue working very closely to help him get the best results out of the team”.

“In terms of the contract, that was a decision that was taken prior to both of our arrivals,” Berrada explained in a sit down at Old Trafford in advance of the undressing against Liverpool.

“But we’re very happy with that decision. Erik has our full backing and we have worked very closely together, as Dan has said before, in this transfer window.

The decision to retain the Dutchman was made during a meeting in Ibiza and will not be influenced by short-term results. While several new signings, including Ugarte, Yoro, de Ligt, Zirkzee, and Mazraoui, have yet to fully integrate into the team, United’s new CEO, Berrada, remains optimistic about the club’s future.

Manchester United’s CEO, Omar Berrada, has emphasized the importance of long-term planning for the club’s success.

In response to questions about the timeline for achieving sustained success, Berrada stated that it requires a combination of factors, including a skilled coach, talented players, and a well-structured organization. He highlighted the need for consistent decision-making over many years to build a financially sustainable team capable of competing at the highest level.

Berrada praised the club’s recent transfer window, noting that they addressed key positions and maintained financial discipline. He stressed the importance of avoiding overspending on players, as it can have negative consequences for the club’s long-term goals.
