Manchester United have officially confirmed the squad number for their summer signing, Diego Leon.
In an announcement published on the club’s official website on Friday, the Red Devils revealed that the 18-year-old Paraguayan wing-back will wear the number 30 shirt at Old Trafford.
Leon joins United from Paraguayan side Cerro Porteño and is expected to strengthen manager Ruben Amorim’s options at wing-back. The promising youngster has already begun training with the senior squad and is said to be settling in well with his new teammates.
Leon previously wore the number 37 jersey at Cerro Porteño but will now take over the number 30 shirt — a number previously worn by the likes of John O’Shea, Guillermo Varela, and Nathan Bishop.
He made his debut in Manchester United’s pre-season friendly against Leeds United.
