Manchester City Confirm Kolo Toure’s Permanent Appointment to Guardiola’s Coaching Staff

Manchester City have officially confirmed the permanent appointment of Kolo Toure to Pep Guardiola’s backroom staff ahead of the 2025/26 Premier League season.

The club announced the decision via their official website on Tuesday afternoon, stating that Toure will now continue in his role as a first-team assistant coach on a full-time basis.

The 44-year-old Ivorian had temporarily joined Guardiola’s technical team during City’s FIFA Club World Cup campaign earlier this year and impressed during his stint.

A former defender who represented Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester City during a decorated playing career, Toure previously served as Assistant Lead Coach with City’s Under-18 side last season.

Working alongside Lead Coach Oliver Reiss, he helped guide the youth team to the Premier League Under-18 North title.

His elevation to the senior coaching staff marks a significant step in his managerial journey as City gear up for another competitive campaign.
