Luka Modrić Joins AC Milan, Takes No. 14 Shirt

Croatian midfield maestro Luka Modrić has officially joined AC Milan, completing a free transfer following his departure from Real Madrid.

The 38-year-old, who spent 13 illustrious years at the Spanish giants, has signed a one-year contract with the Rossoneri, with an option to extend for a second season.

He will wear the No. 14 jersey at Milan, a symbolic choice as he grew up supporting the club, inspired by Croatian legend Zvonimir Boban, who starred for Milan in the 1990s

Modrić, who featured for Real Madrid at the recent Club World Cup before their semi-final exit to Paris Saint-Germain, arrived in Italy on Monday to complete his medicals with the Serie A side.

He will wear the No. 14 jersey at Milan, a symbolic choice as he grew up supporting the club, inspired by Croatian legend Zvonimir Boban, who starred for Milan in the 1990s.

The 2018 Ballon d’Or winner joins a Milan side looking to rebuild after finishing eighth in Serie A last season, missing out on European competition. The club recently reappointed Massimiliano Allegri as head coach, following the dismissal of Sérgio Conceição.
