Leganes’ head coach, Borja Jimenez, has expressed his admiration for Luka Modric, naming him as his preferred Real Madrid player, surpassing both Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius.
Jimenez made these remarks prior to Leganes’ La Liga match against Real Madrid at the Estadio Municipal Butarque on Sunday.
He stated that Modric has elevated both Real Madrid and the Croatian national team to extraordinary levels.
“When asked about my favorite Real Madrid player, I would say Luka Modric has consistently demonstrated his ability to enhance team performance. He has propelled both Real Madrid and Croatia to remarkable achievements,” he remarked, as reported by Madrid Xtra on X.
“While Vinicius and Mbappe are undoubtedly gifted athletes, my choice is Modric; I have a deep appreciation for his footballing prowess.”
Modric transferred to Real Madrid from Tottenham Hotspur in 2012.
The Croatian midfielder has accumulated 551 appearances in all competitions for Los Blancos, netting 39 goals and providing 89 assists.
