João Félix Becomes Fourth Highest-Paid Player in Saudi Pro League After Al Nassr Move

Portugal international João Félix has become the fourth highest-paid player in the Saudi Pro League following his high-profile switch to Al Nassr.

The former Atlético Madrid and Chelsea forward has secured a significant salary boost and will now play alongside Portuguese icon Cristiano Ronaldo at the Riyadh-based club.

According to Correio da Manhã, Félix will earn €17.5 million annually at Al Nassr — more than double the €8 million per year he was receiving at Chelsea.

This figure places him behind only Cristiano Ronaldo, Riyad Mahrez, Karim Benzema, and Sadio Mané in the league’s salary rankings.

Félix’s career has taken a downward turn since his meteoric rise at Benfica, which earned him a record €126 million transfer to Atlético Madrid in 2019.

However, he struggled to meet expectations in Spain and was later sent out on loan to Chelsea and Barcelona, failing to make a lasting impact at either club.

After joining Chelsea permanently last summer, the 25-year-old fell out of favour under new manager Enzo Maresca and was loaned to AC Milan in January.

His time in Serie A also failed to impress, with Milan opting not to make the move permanent.

There were recent reports of a possible return to Benfica, with both club and player reportedly open to a reunion.

However, negotiations broke down over Chelsea’s asking price and Félix’s wage demands.

Al Nassr capitalised on the situation, offering the forward a lucrative deal to lure him to the Middle East.

The move now provides Félix with a fresh start and a prominent role in one of the fastest-growing leagues in world football.
