Everton have completed the signing of midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall from Chelsea for a fee in the region of £28 million.
The 26-year-old joins the Toffees on a five-year deal that runs until June 2030.
The transfer involves an initial payment of £24 million, with a further £3–4 million to be paid in performance-related add-ons.
A product of Leicester City’s academy, Dewsbury-Hall becomes Everton’s fifth signing of the summer following the arrivals of Charly Alcaraz, Thierno Barry, Mark Travers, and Adam Aznou.
Speaking on his move, Dewsbury-Hall said: “I’m honestly very excited, my family’s excited. There’s a real buzz about this. It feels right for me. So just that alone gives me the motivation and the extra determination to show everybody, to prove a point and have a really successful time here.”
Though he found playing time limited at Chelsea—starting just two Premier League games—Dewsbury-Hall impressed in cup competitions.
He scored four times in the UEFA Conference League and provided the assist for Jadon Sancho’s goal in the 4-1 final win over Real Betis in May.
He also featured in the FIFA Club World Cup, netting in the semi-final victory over Benfica and coming on as a substitute in the final, which Chelsea won 3-0 against Paris Saint-Germain.
While he struggled for minutes in a star-studded Chelsea midfield featuring Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez, Everton manager David Moyes will be more focused on Dewsbury-Hall’s standout 2023/24 season at Leicester.
The box-to-box midfielder was instrumental in the Foxes’ Championship title-winning campaign, contributing 12 goals and 14 assists.
That combined tally of 26 goal involvements ranks among the highest in the division over the past decade.
With Everton aiming to add goals and creativity from midfield following the potential departure or reduced role of Abdoulaye Doucouré, Dewsbury-Hall’s arrival offers Moyes a proven source of attacking threat from central areas.
