Liverpool have officially confirmed their Premier League champion status after a comfortable 5-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
The match, played at Anfield, saw Liverpool come from behind after Tottenham’s Dominic Solanke opened the scoring in the 12th minute, assisted by James Maddison via a corner.
However, it took Liverpool just four minutes to come back to level terms, with Luiz Diaz poking home in the 16th minutes after fine work between Salah and Szobozlai.
Alexis Mac Allister’s rocket gave Liverpool a 2-2 lead in the 24th minute thanks to an assist from Ryan Gravenberch.

Cody Gakpo scored a third in the 34th minute, shortly before picking up a yellow card for pulling off his shirt to celebrate.
On the stroke of halftime, Liverpool led 3-1 and showed no signs of tiredness immediately the second half commenced. Mohamed Salah scored in the 63rd minute, again with Szoboszlai providing the assist, to extend Liverpool’s lead to 4-1.
To add the cherry on the cake, Tottenham’s left back, Destiny Udogie scored an own goal in the 69th minute, pushing the scoreline to 5-1 to confirm Liverpool as champions of the 2024/2025 Premier League season.

The match also saw late yellow cards for Harvey Elliott and Tottenham’s Richarlison deep into added time.
