EPL: Manchester United complete £62.5m deal for Matheus Cunha

In a reported £62.5 million ($83 million) agreement, Manchester United acquired Brazil striker Matheus Cunha from Wolves on Sunday.

Cunha is anticipated to sign a five-year contract with the Old Trafford team, with the possibility of a one-year extension.

“Manchester United has reached an agreement with Wolverhampton Wanderers for the signing of Matheus Cunha,” a United statement said.

“Everyone at Manchester United looks forward to welcoming Matheus to Old Trafford.”

The 26-year-old spent the weekend in Manchester finalizing his relocation, which is contingent upon registration and obtaining a visa.

With 18 goals throughout all competitions this season, Cunha—who has 13 caps for Brazil—won the player of the year title from Wolves.

The Brazilian joined Wolves from Atletico Madrid in January 2023 and scored 33 goals in 92 games across all competitions.
