Eberechi Eze pushing for Tottenham move after Europa League triumph

England and Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze has made clear his desire to join Tottenham Hotspur, motivated by the chance to play Champions League football following Spurs’ Europa League success.

According to reports from Fabrizio Romano and Sky Sports on Tuesday, Crystal Palace have been informed of Eze’s wish to make the switch, with the transfer now dependent on club-to-club negotiations. Tottenham are said to be working seriously on the deal.

Spurs have revived their long-standing interest in the 26-year-old as they deal with injuries to key players, including James Maddison (ACL rupture) and Dejan Kulusevski (knee surgery).

New manager Thomas Frank is keen to strengthen his creative options in attack.

Eze enjoyed an impressive 2024–25 campaign, scoring 14 goals and providing 11 assists in 43 appearances.

His £68 million release clause expired on August 8, meaning Tottenham will need to negotiate directly with Palace, who are expected to demand around £60 million plus add-ons.

The player is reportedly open to the move, though Arsenal are also interested. Eze has previously described playing for the Gunners as a “dream,” having been released by the club at the age of 13.

However, Arsenal’s pursuit may hinge on player sales, such as Leandro Trossard, potentially giving Spurs the advantage.
