English Premier League referee David Coote has been the subject of an investigation by the FA after videos emerged of his vile rant against former Liverpool Boss, Jurgen Klopp.
Following the leak of a video where he used offensive language towards Jürgen Klopp and Liverpool, referee David Coote is facing multiple investigations.
The Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) and the Football Association (FA) are both conducting inquiries into the matter. The FA’s investigation could potentially lead to charges of aggravated misconduct due to the nature of the comments.
In light of these investigations, UEFA has decided to suspend Taylor from officiating European matches until further notice.
Earlier this year, PGMOL implemented a ban on its referees working overseas, halting a popular source of additional income for them. This decision came after widespread criticism from clubs and fans regarding the practice of referees taking one-off foreign assignments.
As the investigations into Coote’s conduct continue, verdicts are expected soon. If the referee is found guilty and faces significant sanctions, it could potentially force him to seek opportunities in the Middle East to revive his career.
The 42-year-old would be welcomed in Saudi Arabia if the FA decides to axe him after due investigations have been completed and found guilty.
