Darren Fletcher Appointed Manchester United U-18s Lead Coach

Manchester United have confirmed the appointment of former midfielder Darren Fletcher as the new lead coach of their Under-18 team.

The club announced the move via their official website on Monday, with Fletcher stepping into the role immediately to oversee the team’s pre-season preparations.

Fletcher, 41, returns to a more hands-on coaching role at the club where he spent two decades as a player. Since rejoining United in 2021 in a technical role, he has remained closely involved with the club’s football development structure.

During his playing career at Old Trafford, Fletcher made over 340 appearances and won numerous honours, including five Premier League titles, two League Cups, the FA Cup, the UEFA Champions League, and the FIFA Club World Cup.

“I’m really excited to take on this new role and increase my responsibility to directly develop our young players,” Fletcher told the club’s website. “I am looking forward to working with such a talented age-group.”

Fletcher has already begun working with the squad as they gear up for the 2025/26 campaign.
