Bournemouth have completed the signing of Chelsea goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic in a deal reportedly worth £25 million ($33 million), the club confirmed on Wednesday.
The 25-year-old Serbia international has penned a contract that will keep him at the Vitality Stadium until June 2030.
Petrovic joined Chelsea from MLS side New England Revolution in 2023 and spent last season on loan at Ligue 1 outfit Strasbourg, making 31 appearances during his time with the Blues.
Speaking on his move, Petrovic said: “I’m really happy to be here. I came to Bournemouth because I want to grow and I want to play at the best level. Together with this club, with these facilities, I think we can achieve it. I want to help the team get the results, improve every day and be a better player.”
Bournemouth, who had Kepa Arrizabalaga on loan from Chelsea last season, have seen the Spanish goalkeeper move permanently to Arsenal.
Meanwhile, back-up keeper Mark Travers joined Everton on Tuesday, paving the way for Petrovic to step in as a key figure and possibly first choice goalkeeper between the sticks.
