The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially unveiled the match ball for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), set to take place in Morocco.
Named “ITRI” the ball draws inspiration from Morocco’s centuries-old zellij art form, known for its intricate geometric tile patterns that symbolize harmony and craftsmanship.
According to CAF, the name ITRI also pays homage to the star featured on the Moroccan flag, representing brilliance and national pride.
The ITRI match ball will make its first appearance when hosts Morocco face Comoros in the tournament’s opening match.
The AFCON 2025 finals are scheduled to kick off on Sunday, December 21, in Morocco.
