CAF Interclub Preliminary Draw Set for August 12 in Dar es Salaam

Nigerian clubs will discover their opponents in the preliminary round of the 2025/26 CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup on Tuesday, August 12, 2025.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) confirmed that the draw ceremony will take place in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, setting the stage for another season of continental club football.

Remo Stars and Rivers United will fly Nigeria’s flag in the CAF Champions League. Both teams will be hoping to make history by becoming the first Nigerian club to win the prestigious competition since Enyimba’s back-to-back triumphs in 2003 and 2004.

In the CAF Confederation Cup, Nigeria will be represented by Abia Warriors and Kwara United. While Nigerian clubs have come close in the past, the country is still in search of its first-ever title in the Confederation Cup.

The upcoming campaign offers an opportunity for the quartet to restore Nigeria’s prominence on the continental stage, with fans hoping for deep runs and historic victories.
