The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced that the 2025 edition of the prestigious CAF Awards will be held in Rabat, Morocco, on Wednesday, November 19, 2025.
According to a statement published on the CAF website on Friday, the ceremony will begin at 7 p.m. local time (7 p.m. Nigerian time) and will celebrate Africa’s best footballers, coaches, clubs, and national teams for their exceptional performances over the past year.
Nigeria will once again take centre stage at the event, with several of its top stars nominated across key categories.
On the men’s side, Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen, goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, and rising talent Daniel Bameyi have all earned nominations.
Osimhen, who claimed the CAF African Player of the Year award in 2023, is once again shortlisted for the continent’s most prestigious individual honour after another standout season in Europe with Galatasaray.
Nwabali (Chippa United) will compete for Goalkeeper of the Year, following his impressive performances at the 2023 AFCON, while Bameyi (Primorje, Slovenia) is nominated for Young Player of the Year.
In the women’s categories, the Super Falcons are strongly represented, with Rasheedat Ajibade (Atletico Madrid) and Esther Okoronkwo among the 10-player shortlist for African Women’s Player of the Year, while Chiamaka Nnadozie is nominated for Goalkeeper of the Year.
