Atalanta have officially appointed Raffaele Palladino as their new head coach, with the Italian tactician signing a contract that will keep him at the club until June 2027.
The 41-year-old replaces Ivan Juric, who was sacked on Monday following a disappointing start to the season. Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the appointment in a post on Tuesday.
It had been earlier reported that Atalanta parted ways with Juric after just 11 matches of the 2025–26 Serie A campaign, with Sunday’s 3–0 home defeat to newly-promoted Sassuolo proving the final straw.
Palladino’s arrival marks the beginning of a new era for La Dea, as the Bergamo-based side aims to rebuild and strengthen its position in Serie A and European competitions.
The young manager joins from Fiorentina, where he signed a two-year deal in 2024. During his time in Florence, Palladino earned plaudits for his attacking philosophy and focus on youth development, despite a turbulent end to his tenure with the Viola.
Atalanta CEO Luca Percassi expressed confidence in the new coach’s vision and leadership, saying the club believes Palladino represents “the right profile to lead Atalanta into the next phase of its growth.”
The club also confirmed that Palladino’s contract will run until June 30, 2027, and his immediate challenge will be to stabilise Atalanta’s league form while managing their European commitments.
