Anthony Martial

Former Manchester United striker, Anthony Martial has completed a lucrative move to Greek side AEK Athens as a free agent following his exit from the Old Trafford club.

The France international has reportedly signed a three years contract with his new side as he is set to join up with familiar ex EPL faces in Erik Lamela previously of Tottenham, Thomas Strakosha of Brentford and Roberto Pereyra who once played for Watford before his move to Udinese.

This move will see him topple Erik Lamela has the highest earner as he is under a deal reportedly valued at €2 million (£1.7 million) annually.

Although AEK is making a significant financial investment, Martial would be facing a considerable pay cut compared to his previous salary at Manchester United, where he earned £250,000 per week.

Martial is expected to earn £2.5 million per season with AEK, and the deal would have been announced on Monday night had it not been for a delay, according to SPORT24.

This agreement, totaling £7.5 million including bonuses, would make it the most lucrative contract in AEK’s history.

The three-year guarantee likely played a significant role in the negotiations, as reports suggest that his discussions with Flamengo fell through due to his demand for that contract duration.
