Alisson Leaves Liverpool Pre-Season Camp for Personal Reasons

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker has become the third player to exit the club’s pre-season tour, departing the squad in Japan due to personal reasons.

The Brazilian shot-stopper was absent from Liverpool’s open training session in Tokyo on Tuesday and is not expected to feature in their final match of the tour. He has since flown back home but is expected to rejoin the squad once they return to the UK.

Alisson’s departure follows that of defender Joe Gomez, who was the first to withdraw from the tour after experiencing pain in his Achilles. Gomez is currently undergoing recovery at the club’s AXA Training Centre on Merseyside.

On Monday, winger Luis Díaz also left the camp to complete a high-profile £65.5 million transfer to Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.

Liverpool continue their preparations under new manager Arne Slot, with several key changes already shaping the squad ahead of the 2025/26 season.
