Former world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua is set to face YouTube star–turned–professional boxer Jake Paul in the United States next month, Matchroom Boxing announced on Monday.
Joshua, 36, a former two-time unified heavyweight titleholder, will return to the ring for the first time since his stoppage defeat to fellow Briton Daniel Dubois at Wembley in September 2024. The bout against Paul will take place at the Kaseya Center in Miami and is scheduled for eight three-minute rounds.
The fight serves as a replacement for Paul, who had been due to meet lightweight star Gervonta Davis in an exhibition contest earlier this month before the match was cancelled.
Paul, 28, continues to build his record in professional boxing after securing the biggest win of his career in November 2024, when he defeated heavyweight legend Mike Tyson in Texas.
Both fighters enter the contest with contrasting career trajectories: Joshua seeking to rebuild after losing the IBF title, and Paul looking to further validate his transition from social media celebrity to full-fledged boxer.
Matchroom confirmed that full fight details, including undercard bouts and broadcast information, will be released in the coming weeks.
