Nigeria’s Falconets have been crowned champions of the 2025 WAFU B U-20 Girls Tournament in Benin Republic following a convincing 3-0 victory over Ghana on Tuesday.

Janet Akekoromowei opened the scoring for Nigeria in the 17th minute, before Alaba Olabiyi doubled the lead seven minutes later. In-form forward Ramotalahi Kareem sealed the win with Nigeria’s third goal on the hour mark.

Both Akekoromowei and Kareem finished the tournament with three goals apiece, showcasing their attacking prowess throughout the competition.

The victory lifted Moses Aduku’s side to nine points with a +8 goal difference, having scored three goals in each of their three matches.

The Falconets, who have dominated the regional competition from start to finish, will round off their campaign against hosts Benin Republic’s Young Amazons on Wednesday morning.
