Nnadozie Earns FIFA Best Goalkeeper Nomination

Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has been nominated for the 2025 FIFA Best Women’s Goalkeeper Award, further cementing her status as one of the world’s elite shot-stoppers.

FIFA officially announced the launch of the voting process for The Best FIFA Football Awards 2025 on Thursday, inviting fans worldwide to vote for their favourite players, coaches, and goalkeepers via the official FIFA app.

Nnadozie will compete against some of the game’s finest names, including Ann-Katrin Berger (Germany), Cata Coll (Spain), Christiane Endler (Chile), Hannah Hampton (England), Anna Moorhouse (England), and Phallon Tullis-Joyce (USA).

The reigning African Goalkeeper of the Year earned her place on the shortlist after an exceptional 2024/25 campaign. She inspired her former club, Paris FC, to win the Coupe de France Féminine, the team’s first title in two decades, before moving to Brighton Women in England.

Nnadozie was also instrumental in Nigeria’s record-extending 10th WAFCON triumph in Morocco earlier this year, where she was named Goalkeeper of the Tournament.

She kept four clean sheets in six matches and conceded only twice — both in the final against Morocco, as the Super Falcons fought back from 2–0 down to win 3–2.

Her stellar year also saw her finish fourth in the 2025 Women’s Yachine Trophy at the Ballon d’Or, and she remains a strong contender for a third consecutive CAF Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year award at the upcoming CAF Awards ceremony in Rabat.

Voting for the FIFA Best Awards closes on November 28, with the winners set to be honoured at a ceremony early next year.
