Chelsea have confirmed the permanent transfer of midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka to Borussia Dortmund.
The 21-year-old joined the Blues from Aston Villa in August 2022 and went on to feature in 32 matches, scoring twice during his time at Stamford Bridge.
Last season, he made five appearances for Chelsea, with his final outing coming in the UEFA Conference League victory over Astana.
Chukwuemeka spent the second half of the 2024/25 campaign on loan at Dortmund, where he impressed across 17 appearances, including four at the FIFA Club World Cup, which Chelsea went on to win.
The England Under-21 international will now continue his career in Germany, with Chelsea thanking him for his contribution. “We want to thank Carney for his efforts and wish him well for the future,” the club said in a statement.
