Galatasaray Women have announced that Nigerian defender Oluwatosin Demehin has signed a contract extension, securing her stay in Istanbul for another season.
The 22-year-old centre-back is set to start her second campaign with the club after an impressive debut season, during which she made 26 appearances in domestic and European competitions, scoring once.
Demehin’s strong defensive performances were instrumental in Galatasaray’s historic Champions League run, establishing her as one of the team’s most dependable players.
Fresh off her return from Morocco, Demehin also played a crucial role for Nigeria’s Super Falcons at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), helping her country lift the trophy.
She not only anchored the defence but also contributed with a goal.
Galatasaray released a statement saying: “Our Galatasaray Women’s Football Team has extended the contract of Oluwatosin Demehin Blessing.
She was a key player in our historic Champions League success and also lifted the Africa Cup of Nations with Nigeria this summer. We wish her a season full of success.”
Buoyed by her international triumph, Demehin will aim to bring that winning mentality into her second season with the Turkish giants.
