Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has been named the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) Men’s Player of the Year for 2025, becoming the first player ever to win the award three times.
Aston Villa midfielder Morgan Rogers scooped the Young Player of the Year prize, while former England manager Gareth Southgate received the PFA Merit Award for his service to football and his achievements with the national team.
The winners were announced on the PFA’s official website on Tuesday.
Salah, 33, played a decisive role in Liverpool’s Premier League title triumph last season, finishing as the league’s top scorer with 29 goals and contributing 18 assists.
His remarkable campaign also saw him collect the 2024/25 Premier League Player of the Season and the Football Writers’ Association Footballer of the Year awards.
Reflecting on his journey, the Egyptian said “Of course, I wanted to be a football player, to be famous, and to provide for my family, but you don’t think about the big things when you are still in Egypt. As you grow, you start to see things differently, develop ambition, and begin to see the bigger picture.”
Other nominees for the prestigious award included Liverpool teammate Alexis Mac Allister, Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes, Newcastle striker Alexander Isak, Chelsea forward Cole Palmer, and Arsenal’s Declan Rice.
