Four Super Falcons stars Rasheedat Ajibade, Esther Okoronkwo, Michelle Alozie, and Chiamaka Nnadozie—have been named in the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) Best XI.
The prestigious selection was announced by the competition’s Technical Study Group, following the conclusion of the tournament in Morocco.
Goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, who was also crowned Best Goalkeeper of the tournament, kept four clean sheets and conceded only two goals from open play—both in the final against hosts Morocco.
Right-back Michelle Alozie earned recognition for her consistent performances, featuring in five of Nigeria’s six matches. The Houston Dash defender was a defensive pillar throughout the campaign.
Versatile winger Esther Okoronkwo lit up the tournament with her skill and pace. The AFC Toronto star recorded two goals and six assists in six appearances, and claimed two Woman of the Match awards.
Captain Rasheedat Ajibade was named Most Valuable Player of the Tournament. The 24-year-old scored once and provided two assists, while also collecting three Woman of the Match accolades.
