Paris FC, Nantes reportedly reach €7m Moses Simon agreement

Newly promoted Paris FC and FC Nantes have reached an agreement for the transfer of Nigerian international Moses Simon, according to French news outlet Foot Mercato.

With a squad that will be competing in Ligue 1 for the first time in 46 years, Paris FC has made Moses a top target this summer.

The 29-year-old’s transfer is reportedly worth about €7 million.

According to Foot Mercato, Nantes was not satisfied with Paris’ bid of approximately €5 million for the forward, which was previously reported by Ouest-France.

Nantes appears to have been persuaded to part ways with a player who has been a mainstay in the team since he joined on a permanent contract in 2020 after Paris returned with an improved offer.

In 2022 and 2023, Simon helped Nantes reach back-to-back Coupe de France finals and avoid relegation.

In 2022, he also assisted them in defeating OGC Nice to win the cup and earn the team’s fourth championship.

The team finished in 13th place with 36 points, six points above the drop, thanks to Simon’s eight goals and ten assists from the previous season.

In 201 appearances for the Canaries, the Nigerian has 37 goals plus 42 assists.

The Nigerian also had interest from Rennes, Olympique Marseille, and English Premier League side Everton, but it appears his move to Paris FC could be wrapped up in the days ahead.
