Ignore history- William Troost-Ekong tells Nigerians ahead of win or bust clash with Uganda

Dismissing worries over their prior winless record in Rwanda, Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong has stated that the team is ready for its all important 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match on later today, Friday 21st March, 2025 against Rwanda.

Eric Sekou Chelle’s first test will be against the Amavubi of Rwanda later today.

Despite previous failures to defeat the Amavubi on the road, Troost-Ekong maintains that the team is intent on the current task.

According to the centre back, “Actually, we read about that in some places but we are not bothered. I was part of the last game in Kigali which ended scoreless, but we know that we cannot afford a draw this time”
