Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has firmly stated his unwavering commitment to the club, regardless of the outcome of the ongoing legal proceedings with the Premier League concerning alleged financial violations.
Guardiola addressed the media on Friday, following the announcement of his two-year contract extension, which has dispelled rumors regarding a potential departure from the Etihad Stadium, as his previous contract was set to expire in June 2025.
Ahead of the upcoming match against Tottenham Hotspur, Guardiola reiterated his intention to remain with the club even if the independent panel rules against them and they face relegation.
“I mentioned six months ago, when all the clubs accused us of wrongdoing, that if we were to be relegated, I would still be here.
“Next year, even if we find ourselves in the Conference, we will return to the Premier League. I was confident then, and I remain so now,” Guardiola stated.
