Raphaël Varane

One of the very few players to have won it all in their football career, Raphaël Varane has called it quit after the former Manchester United defender announced his retirement today.

The 2018 World Cup winner made the announcement on his X handle with a two minutes video, detailing all his career milestone with clubs he has represented as he takes a valiant bow out of the stage.

Having struggled to stay fit due to a re-occurring knee injury, the 31 year old Como’s stint was marred by a serious injury just twenty minutes into his debut in Serie A with the newly promoted side and he was left out of the team as it’s expected that the wounds suffered would keep him out for long period of the campaign.

With accolades pouring in, Real Madrid with whom he won the most major trophies of his career also shared their gratitude and admiration for the player who is now part of the club’s history.
