The joint bid to host the 2030 FIFA World Cup by Morocco, Portugal, and Spain has reached a crucial milestone. The trio officially submitted their comprehensive bid book to FIFA President Gianni Infantino at a ceremony in Paris.
With the ambitious slogan “YallaVamos,” symbolizing unity and progress, the bid aims to create a tournament that transcends football and leaves a lasting positive impact. The proposal emphasizes cultural exchange, sustainability, and innovation, while showcasing the combined strengths of the three nations.
A key highlight of the bid is its potential to become the first World Cup to span two continents, marking a historic moment for the tournament. Extensive planning, including infrastructure, logistics, and security, has been meticulously detailed in the bid book.
A star-studded lineup of football legends and current stars from all three countries including: Luis Figo, Andres Iniesta and Nourredine Naybet – and legend Emmanuel Adebayor, as well as leading players from the current men’s and women’s national teams: Cristiano Ronaldo, Achraf Hakimi, Dolores Silva, Ghizlane Chebbak, Alvaro Morata, Irene Paredes and Yassine Bounou are all backing the bid, lending their support to the campaign.
Upon receiving the official bid book for the joint bid of Morocco, Portugal and Spain, FIFA President Gianni Infantino said: “Your three countries have already given a lot to football, countries with great passion for the game, great organisational skills and a shared vision of what football and its values should be! It’s fantastic that you united two continents in the dream to organize the FIFA World Cup! Football Unites the World and you are proving it with this bid.”
The final decision on the 2030 World Cup host will be made by the FIFA Congress in December 2024.
