2026 World Cup Playoffs: Chelle Names Strong Super Eagles XI to Face Gabon

Super Eagles head coach, Éric Chelle, has announced his starting XI for tonight’s crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup playoff encounter against Gabon in Rabat, Morocco.

As expected, Stanley Nwabali retains his place in goal, continuing his fine form for the national team.

In defence, Bright Osayi-Samuel and Zaidu Sanusi will operate as full-backs, while Calvin Bassey partners rising star Benjamin Fredrick at the heart of the backline.

Midfield duties will be anchored by Wilfred Ndidi, who captains the team on the night, alongside Alex Iwobi, set to make his 90th international appearance for Nigeria.
